Kelly-Ann Bowen
Kelly-Ann Bowen has been a member of
the youth committee since January 2002.
Quite young herself, at that time she
was attending the University of the West
Indies, Cave Hill Campus pursuing a
degree in psychology and trying to cope
with some struggles of her own. Although
she did not understand it as clearly as
she does today, at the time God was
calling her into the ministry while
setting her apart. Today she thanks God
because being a member of the committee
has caused her to have great support and
has given her some measure of
responsibility and accountability.
Although she enjoys meeting, interacting
and working with people, she prefers to
stay in the background and hence sitting
on the committee has been challenging.
However overtime she has learned to cope
and has seen growth in this area of her
life. She has a passion for the general
well-being of people and seeks to do all
she can to see them reach their full
potential. She currently exercises this
passion while teaching at the primary
level.
Another passion Kelly has is for the
ministry of dance and is hence one of
the worship dancers of Kairos Academy
(the Arts Ministry based at Restoration
Ministries). In addition to her
ministries, she enjoys curling up with a
good book when she has the time, baking
and shopping.
She describes her time spent on the
committee as a learning experience to be
treasured.
Nandisa Goodman
Nadisa Goodman is a Guyanese by birth
but has lived in the island of Barbados
for the past 19 years. Even before
pursuing a BSc in Social Work, she
states that she felt drawn towards
functioning in a career with a focus in
the development of the total person for
personal fulfillment and achieving
purpose. On personal reflection, she
states that at first it was difficult to
see herself as a member of the committee
due to her generally shy personality.
However, she firmly believes her
position on the committee has been God
ordained towards her own personal and
career development. She currently sits
on the committee for the Youth and Dance
Ministries and also functions as Nursery
Assistant in the Junior Church
department. She is desirous of
continuing in these ministries as she
has a heart for the youth and seeing
them fulfill divine purpose and also may
consider a Masters in the field of
Psychology before maybe embarking on her
own family counseling practice.
Andrea Clement
Andrea Clement is a 30 year old
trained social worker and medical
records technician. She flows in the
prophetic while also involved in the
Worship department and the missions
department. She is also the head of the
mentorship ministry which is currently
in the process of being established. She
has been a member of the youth committee
for the past year and a member of
Restoration Ministries International for
the past seven (7) years. When asked to
describe herself, Andrea responds, “I
would like to think of myself as a
fun-loving individual, who can be
serious when necessary. I love the Lord
with all my heart and even though my
journey hasn’t been easy, I wouldn’t
trade the Lord for anything or anyone.
He’s been too good to me. I’ve seen
God’s hand working in my life – bringing
a rejected, abused, angry, resentful
individual into her purpose. I’m still
being processed but I’m willing to go
where Father is leading me.
I see myself as one who encourages
others to be the best that they can be
so that they can fulfill their God given
purpose in this life…. hence my decision
to accept the mandate to run with the
vision for the Mentorship Ministry. I
try to look at life from a holistic and
practical standpoint, knowing that God
desires for us to prosper and be
successful in every area of our lives.
Although my life is pretty hectic right
now…. I strive to maintain my intimacy
with Father…recognizing I can’t do
anything without Him.” When not at
church she enjoys going to the beach,
meeting new people, traveling, watching
a good movie and hanging with friends
and family.
Kelisha Irish
Kelisha Irish is a 21 year old young
lady from the beautiful island of
Antigua. She basically grew up in the
church and became a christian when she
was 7 years old. From that tender age
she knew that there was something very
special about the Jesus she heard so
much about in Sunday School, so since
then she made up her mind that she was
going to serve him with all her heart.
When asked about her spiritual life
after salvation, Kelisha responds “I
began to know Jesus personally and as he
revealed himself more to me I had no
other choice but to worship him all the
time. Worship became my life and what I
do and so today, many years after, I am
a worshipper of the King of Kings. He
has blessed me to be an instrument of
worship to him in all aspects: I am a
musician, a psalmist, a dancer and
though singing is not a specialty of
mine, I still use my voice in song and
praise to my God.
She continues, “I am a young woman of
God, filled with his spirit and obedient
to his will for my life. In this I hope
to be an example to those younger than
me, as young as I am and even those
older than me because also at a very
young age my God, the Lord Jesus Christ,
placed a burden on my heart to see young
people change the world in which they
live, into a world where the kingdom of
God has come. With this burden He has
given me, I try my best to help youths
see the potential God has placed in them
for this to be achieved.” She has
recently (2008) completed a Bachelor's
Degree Program in Economics and
Accounting at the University of the West
Indies. She intends on using her
education in Economics to influence the
growth and development of the Economy of
her country on a National scale.
